I was always against moving on base because I had heard their was a bunch of childish drama with dependa's who cant mind their own business and think they wear their husbands rank. But when we got pregnant with our second kid we decided to move on base, from the first week it was a fail. The neighbors let their dog bark all the time all day (my husband on nights) into the night 11-1am. I went over there and asked them to bring their dog in that people were trying to sleep after being woke up multiple times at night. Settled right?no. A week later back at it, report it to Balfour beatty they have you fill out a complaint form which all they do is tell the people they had a complaint, nothing to actually resolve the situation. After multiple reports one to the people letting their dog bark all the time 2 to housing office and 3 to the police over a year later still not resolved. With people recording the incidents on base and people having multiple complaints about them its still OK for them to leave their dogs barking at 1:30am right? Moral of the story if you don't want to deal with inconsiderate neighbors and housing not doing anything and their flawed system of reporting and handeling situations your better off not living on base. This is also just scratching the surface of the drama on base regardless if you talk to your neighbors or not Balfour Beatty's anonymous reporting system categories to all the spineless little snitches. For example I was in their building at one point and I overheard a lady reporting that her neighbors dog got out of her door and she caught it and she didnt even say thank you, r u kidding me!? Did your feelings get hurt so you go and wine to the principals office? Just sharing my experience with living on base obviously its not the same for everyone or no one would live there. Im just warning if u like peace and quiet and no drama this is not your place to make a home.
